Conceiving and developing the Rainbow Rights Toolkit project at COTA SA, I realised that many resources on human rights either don’t mention LGBTI+ rights or only briefly. This online Toolkit brings together more detailed information as well as many further sources of support and information focussed on Health, Housing, Overcoming Discrimination and Planning Ahead. It was great working with community members and organisations to create an accessible resource. Julie McCrossin chaired the well-attended and engaging launch event in June 2024, drawing out key issues.

Building on discussion at the launch, Julie hosted five video and podcast interviews to tease out the content further. Links are available on the Rainbow Hub SA website. COTA SA partnered with the South Australian Government’s Office for Ageing Well to develop these resources and build awareness of state initiatives that safeguard the rights of older people.
